Haiti Immigration - TRUMP has until May 23 to decide on TPS for Haitians

Many Haitians in the Diaspora await their fate as the deadline for the Trump administration to decide whether it wants to extend temporary protected status for Haitians, May 23, approaches.

Father Gerard Jean-Juste - TPS For Haitians

Should DHS, the Department of Homeland Security, decides it will not extend TPS for 58,000 Haitians in the United States, expect mass deportation in the the coming months because these Haitians could be sent back Haiti when the program expires on July 22.

James McCament, the acting director of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, concluded in a letter last month that conditions in Haiti has improved and Haitians are no longer in need for temporary protected status for refugees.

What will the Trump administration decide?
