Does Kanye West know about the Haitian Revolution?

Kanye west said: "When you hear about slavery for 400 years," he said. "For 400 years? That sounds like a choice. You was there for 400 years and it's all of y'all. It's like we're mentally in prison...

Here are some of the tweets that sends Kanye west back to school to learn about the Haitian Revolution... Oh wait! They didn't teach that in school in the United States... They don't even talk about it during Black History month! Go figure...

@kanyewest U.S. slavery was far from "...a choice". When Haiti won its independence, laws in U.S. South were changed to deter runaways & rebellion. France had lost so much bank battling rebels, had to sell Louisiana Territory, making U.S. 2/3 larger.

Replying to @kanyewest Numbers were not on the slaves' side in the US. Uprisings in Haiti were successful b/c slaves outnumbered slaveowners. Slaves were more separated in the US, and they were prevented from congregating specifically to prevent them from being able to coordinate...

@kanyewest @TMZ There was never any "All o' y'all" here. The U.S. is 13% "Black". Haiti isn't 13% Black, nor is Cuba, Brazil, Jamaica, or the D.R. Peep their traditions of maroons & revolts. Haiti defeated Napoleon, second independent country in West.
