I never knew that you can win an award that comes with half a million dollars by telling great stories.

I have been writing on the Internet for almost ten years and I bought a book called Get That Novel Started" by Donna Levin almost ten years ago and...

Edwidge Danticat, my dear sister, You inspire me, you really do. I mean you've inspired me before but now you just gave me 500,000 new inspirations and reasons to get something started.

Edwidge Danticat made her debut as a novelist in 1994 with Breath, Eyes, Memory. and since then, she has written eight books.

She recently finished a collection of essays she is currenly working on a new novel.

It is always wonderful to hear these great stories about Haitian men and women who are achieving great success outside of Haiti.

And I am always proud to find these stories and to share them with you. If you are as inspired reading this as I am writing it then I will feel that I did something right
