Some good news regarding tourism in Haiti... more and more Canadians visiting Haiti... Read this from The Canadian Press... The latest tourism statistics demonstrate that Canadians are increasingly visiting Haiti... 33,000 traveled last year to what was once known as the Pearl of the Antilles... What can I tell you? A pearl is a pearl is a pearl... Let's clean her up, fix her up, and make her shine!

According to the article, the number of tourists that came to Haiti last year is small compared to Cuba and the Dominican Republic but it is a big improvement from Haiti's previous years.

The same article mentioned that "some have criticized the Haitian government for devoting so much money to promoting tourism while many others are in great need."

Haiti tourism minister Stephanie Villedrouin says tourism promotes employment and attracts wealth... She aint liying... When tourists visit a country, they leave a lot of money behind; the more of a good time they have, the more money they leave behind... Of course where ever they go, that money will fall in somebody's hand...

What do you say to that?
