FOUR times more EGGS produced in Haiti now, Michel Chancy says

The egg-laying industry is growing more and more in Haiti since the controversial Dominican egg import ban... FOUR times more eggs are being produced in Haiti everyday, according to Dr Michel Chancy, Secretaire d'Etat a la Production Animale (SEPA)... Better for the Haitian marketplace...

For years Haiti has been consuming eggs in great quantities imported from the Dominican Republic. These eggs have been coming in by the millions without any sanitary controls, Dr. Chancy says. That makes it impossible for the local market to compete with product that are not fresh or of lesser quality.

The ban on egg import imposed by Haiti on Dominican eggs is more a regulation issues. Haiti is demanding that better quality eggs cross the border. In the mean time, Haitians are producing more and more eggs, hopefully there will be no need to import any egs at all... That's good don't you think?

"It is NOT normal for a country to import 90 percent of the eggs that it is consuming," Dr Chancy says. "The fact that we have now put some regulations in the importation of Eggs, that has lowered the quantities of eggs being imported into the country and has increases the production of local eggs into the market."

"Today we have 4 times more eggs being procedure in Haiti then before, there were about 50,000 egg-laying hens before, now there are already about 200,000 egg-laying hens in Haiti pumping about 150,000 eggs daily on the National market."

What do you think about that?

Very Good, hoping that will happen for every single product we use to import from them like: Plantain, garlic, coconut, lime etc...

I wish we can boycott their economy any how, base on their racial controversy against Haitians.

I wish we had the power, the courage of our Ancestor to kick them out from our Island.

This is what I think from the bottom of my heart.

Thanks!
Best
