Farewell To The Old Me

I was looking for a perfect occasion to tell you what has been happening in my life since my new year resolution. I just found it!

When I first arrived in Spring Valley, NY, a â€"Just come” fresh out of Haiti, my cousin Edlyne Michel took me to Daniela’s house.

belfet.com/album.php?poster=3435â€"This is your cousin” Edlyne said. I was 14 years old; Edlyne and Daniela were senior at Ramapo High School and both old enough to party.

20 years later I reveice a surprise phone call for non other than Daniela Ducasse.

She is an Author now... Amazing...

Daniela D. Ducasse has just finished her new novel "Farewell To The Old Me"

â€"I read your newsletter all the time!” Daniela says… you know that made me happy!

I wanted to send this message to everyone, like Daniela, who read the Haitian Internet Newsletter.

There is new Author in the house!

Hip... Hip.. Hooray!!!

If you live in the Tri-State area don’t miss her book signing of "Farewell To The Old Me" on Sunday, March 4th, 2007 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
At the Finkelstein Memorial Library in Spring Valley, NY.

"Farewell To The Old Me" is also available at www.Amazon.com, if you already purchased your copy, bring it with you, I am sure she will be delighted to sign it for you. If not, you can certainly get an autograph copy on March 4th.

Congratulations, Daniela. As I read the title of your novel â€"Farewell to the Old Me” I’m thinking this may be a good time to say this:

Since my last newsletter article â€"Woodring`s New Year Resolution” lots have happened in my life:

I sold my house…

I paid off all my debts…

I quit my job…

I have ZERO stress in my life…

I’m going home…

Farewell To The Old Me!

I felt such an overwhelming sense of empathy while reading this novel.

It's a reminder of how deceitful Haitian men are. The heroine was fortunate to have protected herself against STD's or even worse...pregnancy.

The only thing that puzzled me was the chronological order of events.

In a million years, I would never have imagined that I would be finding relatives electronically.

When you are from a large family with determined souls and people that are anxious to succeed, the dots often find ways to reconnect themselves.

Indeed, it was a pleasure and a heartfelt moment to speak with "Doudou" after 20 years.
