The Haitian Gourde vs The US Dollar
This depreciation of the Haitian currency is worrying a lot of people in the country as things get more and more expensive because we are buying everything "au taut du jour".
Everything in Haiti is prorated based on the value of the US dollar. The dollar goes up so does everything the people consume
As of Monday February 17th, the US dollar was being bought in Haiti at the rate of up to 93.25 gourdes. And to to purchase the US currency at the banks you needed up to 95.5 gourdes.
When this thing hits 100 mark, God knows what would have happened in this country.
