Are you afraid of Rasin music and Vodou?

I suspect some Haitians are a bit afraid when they hear the word Racine or Vodou.

Do not fear, Vodou is your culture, it is your religion, it is the only thing that links you to your roots back in Africa.

If you think Rasin or Vodou is Satanic, It's OK, I forgive you, after all that's what your Pastor or your priest wants you to believe.

Fortunately, you have a computer with internet access, information is now available at your fingertips, and you can do research in the comfort of your own home.

Ignorance is bliss, as they say. I just spent 3 days doing a research on Vodou. I will release my findings next week and I promise you, you will be shocked.

That was a great thing you said and I could have not said it any better than the way you said it. I too (as a seventh day) believe in exactly what you said. Just like the scary "n...." word voodoo has become very taboo and sterotyped.

It needs to be understood, historically and in its entire aspect.

It's not scary and evil as people make it out to be. It's our culture and the way of think of the majority (especially the poor).

although I am a Seventh Day, which is a German religion as most Haitian don't know but I respect my religion (Voodoo) which is my culture.

That has help me to know myself better as a black man and because I know myself, I get to love my Haitian people with all my heart.

Now loving my people, helps me to love everyone else with no exception.
