No Condition Is Permanent

"A great city is that which has the greatest men and women, if it be a few ragged huts, it is still the greatest city in the whole world."

Rene Godefroy - Haitian motivational speaker

- Walt Whitman -

I have a message for everyone who believes that Haiti will never change. It's a simple message and I believe it with all my heart:

NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT!

These are not my words but the title of a new book written by a Haitian Brother named Rene Godefroy.

There are some very negative stereotypes about us Haitians and our country. These stereotypes are ripping us apart and preventing our nation from moving forward.

How many times do you hear these words?

  • Haiti will never change!
  • Haitians can't get along

These are lies, my friend, pure lies.

The saddest thing about these lies is the fact that we - Haitians - keep spreading them about ourselves. It's as though "Haiti will never change" was one of the 10 commandments.

STOP THAT!
NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT!

If you love yourself, if you love your country, if you want to go down in history as the generation who made a difference, then I strongly suggest you start by reprogramming your mind and believing that YOUR CONDITION IS NOT PERMANENT.

Please do yourself a favor and start investing in some motivational books, tapes, and videos.

Start by reading Rene Godefroy's new book "NO CONDITION IS PERMANENT.

He is not paying me to endorse his book, I am simply inspired by it and I truly relate to his story. You can too.

Rene was born and raised in Petite Riviere in Haiti. He was poor as poor can be; yet, he managed to fulfill his dreams.

I spoke to Mr. Godefroy a couple of weeks ago and he sent me an autographed copy of the book - OK I had to brag! - This morning I had to go to the Registry of Motor Vehicles. I grabbed the book and took it with me.

I don't have to tell you how long it takes when you go to the RMV. You know how these government employees take their sweet time.

Well, that was the first time in my life I actually waited five hours at the registry without complaining. Yes I read the whole thing!

"God, if you let me make it to America, I will do something meaningful with my life!"

He did...

Rene Godefroy went from being a "poor Haitian kid" from the back Roads of Haiti, eating "Lam Veritab (Breadfruit)" for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, to becoming "Motivational Speaker Extraordinaire" and changing lives everywhere he goes.

If life is beating you up and you don't have it in you to get yourself up and say "Enough is enough," Rene Godefroy will prove to you once and for all that "No Condition is Permanent"

After working many low paying jobs on the streets of Miami, Rene Godefroy got a job working as a doorman for a hotel in Atlanta, Georgia.

After opening the hotel door for so many motivational speakers, Rene Godefroy figured it was time to let someone else do that. Yes, it was time he became a motivational speaker.

Rene Gofefroy had a story to tell and it was time he proved to the world that "No Condition is Permanent!"

What I am about to tell you, I learned in a psychology class in college:

If you put a bee in a jar and you cover it up with a glass lid, the bee will make many attempts to escape. After hitting the glass lid to many times trying to escape, the bee will learn to fly within the jar without hitting the lid.

Even if you remove the lid, the bee will still remain within the jar and never make any attempts to escape.

Do you agree that this bee's condition is permanent?

Just like the bee in the jar...

  • We live our lives in that little corner of the world where we were so unfortunate to be born in.
  • We accept the stereotypes that have been put upon us.
  • We accept the fact that "Haiti will never change"
  • We accept the fact that "Haitians can't get along"
  • We accept the fact that "Haiti is the poorest country in the western hemisphere"
  • We let the rattlesnakes discourage us every time we decide to leap forward

My Haitian friend, your condition is not permanent. You can be whatever you want to be... and Haiti can be whatever we - Haitians - want it to be.

I think it's time we drop the Dessalines motto of "Coupe Tete Boule Caille"

I think it's time we made a difference in our lives. If each and every one of us strives to be the best, then Haiti will have no choice but to be the best.

I don't know how I managed to get the inspiration from Rene Godefroy's book to turn this article into a "Save Haiti, Save Yourself" speech but I am glad I did and I hope you got the message.

Read Rene's book, it will change your life!

How is this story gonna give Haitians hope for Haiti when you you telling us about a the guy who had to escape Haiti to find success in his life?

A better example would be Japan.

As a result of World War 2 Japan was a country that was destroyed and put in extreme poverty.
