Haiti Earthquake Survivors Disappointed, Obama Didn't Come

Many of the Haiti earthquake survivors said they are disappointed that US president Barack Obama still has not paid Haiti a visit to personally show solidarity and to see with his own eyes the tragedy that Haiti is going through.

belpoz.com/picture-7707In an article posted on Black Voice News by Joseph Guyler Delva, many Haitians say they were expecting to see Presient Barack Obama visit Haiti already.

Chavane Jeune, a former Haiti Presidential Candidate, says:

"We are the first Black independent Republic of the world, and Obama is the first US Black president."

Stephanie Jean-Jacques says:

"We have received tremendous attention from the international community and President Obama has demonstrated great attention from day one of the disaster.

I believe Haitians are very grateful to him and his administration, but we are dying to see him come here to see us. We are requesting that of him because we love him."

What do you have to say about this?

Do you think there is a specific reason why the first black president of the U.S. did not visit the first black republic?

Just like Haitians to be so ungrateful.

He has been so supportive since January 12, 2010. For goodness sakes people, the man inherited a hot mess left from the last President.

He is busy making changes for the good of the US. What does it matter if he don't come; at least he sent. He sent help and he sent tons of help. That is what counts and matters.

This is a pretty complicated situation.

Somehow the visit would be very meaningful.

We even saw a French president, 1st time since 1804. Maybe Obama is more practical than sentimental.
